The Jeffries Express Blower has been reaching new heights on the roof of the new GP Plus Health Care Centre at Marion, creating a stunning rooftop oasis!
Working with Harris and Noonan, the commercial and civil landscapers in charge of the rooftop garden project, the Jeffries Express Blower was used to spread 40m3 of Jeffries Lightweight Hydrocell Soil onto the second story roof of the building.
Specially formulated for rooftop gardens, this soil was chosen as it provides a nutrient rich base for healthy plants with a lot less weight than standard soil…perfect for constructing a garden on a roof!
With the original plan to crane product onto the roof one cubic metre bag at a time, Harris and Noonan ultimately chose to use the Jeffries Express Blower for a much quicker and accurate application. The delivery of the product took one and a half days, which would have otherwise taken over a week if applied by other methods.
Daniel Harris from Harris and Noonan said “The Jeffries Express Blower was a fantastic option for our project. We were able to place the soil exactly where we wanted it in a matter of hours, saving on expensive crane costs and labour.”
And there was no challenge too big for the Express Blower with this project either! Due to the fragile building exterior, care had to be taken not to come into contact with the surface of the building. The use of a cherry picker allowed the blower hose to be lifted high above the roof to allow the procedure to take place without a scratch to the building.
There is no doubt that the end results of the rooftop garden project have been spectacular.
